ABOUT THIS WINE

In the appellation of Toscana IGP, from vineyards in il Cristo and Grosseto. 100% Sangiovese grapes grown in calcareous clay and sandy soils. Harvest is done entirely by hand in small crates. The wine is allowed to settle naturally by gravity and is only minimally fined or filtered. All work in the winery is done with gravity, without the use of pipes or pumps.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Located in il Cristo, Grosseto, the winery was founded in 1954 by a group of passionate growers. The winemaker is Graziana Grassini, one of the first female winemakers in Italy, and of Sassicaia fame.
Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo are the most important varietals in the winery. The vineyards are located on the coastal strip of the Maremma in Castiglione della Pescaia, Alberese and Capalbio. The vineyard plots are very small, an average of less than 2 acres per vineyard.
The winery has an area dedicated only to organic farming produce from the region. Visitors to the winery can purchase a selection of Maremma also produces goods like extra virgin olive oil, Tuscan pecorino cheese, honey, porcini mushrooms, preserves, and cured meats.
