A precious deep-red coloured wine. Great finesse on the nose, typical of Mencía, it presents aromas of red berries, spices and smoky hints. Unctuous on the palate, fresh fleshiness and balanced structure.

ABOUT THIS WINE

Tilenus Crianza La Florida is a red wine from the Bierzo made by Bodegas Estefania, a winery founded in Valtuille above and Pieros.

This wine is a varietal Mencia (100%) from "La Florida", an old vineyard with vines 60-80 years old, planted in glass trellises on steep slopes. The vineyards are on clay soil with boulders, at an altitude of 600-700m above sea level.

Regarding the process, after the manual harvest, a spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine spends 12-14 months in French oak barrels which have been lightly roasted. The wine finally rests in the bottle for a long period of time, before going to market.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

Bodegas Estefanía is a very special Spanish winery in the production of DO Bierzo wines. It was born in 1999 when the FRIAS family decided to recover an old dairy located in the Dehesas district , in Ponferrada (León) , in 2014 it became part of MGWines Group . Its main brand, Tilenus , was born from the name of the primitive god “Teleno”, the Celtic god of war and also equivalent to the Roman god Mars. With the name of the Tilenus wine , the aim has been to remember that golden age of the Roman era in El Bierzo , where the gold deposit of Las Médulas began to be exploited.

To this day, this era is engraved on the bottle labels with a Roman coin, which was found in one of the vineyards. All this has given rise to a winery that produces exclusive wines with DO Bierzo in an artisanal way, selecting each Mencía and Godello grape berry with the utmost care. U vas native to the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula since the time of Ancient Rome
