2017 Domaie Alain Patriarche Meursault 1er Cru "Poruzot", Burgundy, France

Intense aromas of honey, linden, hazelnut butter and chamomile or hawthorn. Round and silky on the palette and a very long persistence evoking yellow plum and bread. Great acidity making it very age-worthy.

ABOUT THIS WINE

For all of Alain Patriarche's white wines, after careful harvesting and pressing, the must ferments into oak. The percentage of new oak is chosen according to the origin of the grape. After maturing for 12 months on lees, in the tradition of the great Meursault, the wine is bottled with a minimum of fining and filtration.

ABOUT THIS PRODUCER

For 5 generations the Patriarche family has cultivated vines in Meursault. Alain Patriarche's father took over the few cultivated lands from his own father, and cultivated them until Alain took over in 1970 before passing the torch to his daughter, Maud, who has continued the family tradition since 2012. Over time Alain has enlarged the domain. To date, the Alain Patriarche estate covers 10 hectares spread over two municipalities. The wines of the Alain Patriarche estate are vinified separately for each climate and each plot in order to preserve all the intrinsic characteristics of the terroir. All the estate's wines are made from the Chardonnay grape for white wines, and from the Pinot Noir grape for red wines.
